More about me and my work
Hi, I’m Veen — a registered social worker and psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada with over a decade of experience in gender-based violence, mental health, and substance use sectors. I’m a PhD candidate at the University of Waterloo, exploring the use of technology to prevent gender-based violence. I am passionate about positively impacting the lives of individuals and communities.
My work is highly interdisciplinary and combines the benefits and strengths of Human-Computer Interaction, Public Health and Social Work fields. My PhD research is generously funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
